Bakpia: Special cake from Yogya - Recommendation

In every City you'll find "the speciality of". A certain dish, a Special cake..

When it comes to that topic, it is a great thing to be adventurous.

Here now my Personal recommendation for a cake Made in Yogya.
The name: Pathok Bakpia. Outside it is Made of puff paste, inside it is filled with green beans - traditionally.. But they also fill it with cheese and chocolate nowadays. Still, the traditional one is preferrable.

When people from Indonesia visit Yogya they often buy so called oleh-oleh, i.e. souvenir. Mostly you'll See plastic bags filled with those little Bakpia boxes. Now, the number on a Box is obligatory. The famous number carries the good taste! ...So they say..

Of course, the famous numbers are more expensive, but there are various Bakpia Baker who create just the same or even better quality... Cuz Bakpia is just not just Bakpia..

The cake filled with green beans is named "Bakpia kacang hijau". - So look out for it! Reference for my favourite 417 as Seen on the picture. SELAMAT MAKAN!
